Before I worked at New Balance Overland Park, I worked several different retail jobs. I struggled to find a shoe that wouldn’t make my lower body hurt after a shift. I was aware of the 990 and always wanted a pair, but it was more for fashion. The 990 is a great looking shoe. Some like to poke fun and say it’s a “Dad shoe”-- and it is, but in a good way! When I started here at New Balance, I was set on getting a pair of 990’s. I tried it on for the first time and I fell in love -- not only for the looks, but also for the comfort. Since then, it’s been my go-to shoe. I own a lot of sneakers -- but when I wear other shoes, I sometimes find myself thinking, “Man, these aren’t that comfy. I should’ve worn my 990’s”.
